I still wondering how on earth Nic Pothas make such a comment just because SL able to restrict Ind for 170 in the 1st test match due to such a helpful bowling conditions. If not for 3-4 overs SL would have lost the 1st test match also.

I would have like to see any media person asking this question again from him face to face in front of the media.

That comment was made during the 1st Test and if you were to look at it then after the Pakistan series and that first Test you would say yes.
Really they should have won the 1st Test but blew a major opportunity and almost grasped defeat in the end.

Whilst I am not a huge fan of Pothas as coach you can't keep pulling out quotes in subsequent games where the team has gone back to old ways.

As I have said in other post I don't believe any coach in the world would have made a difference they way the team played in the 2nd and 3rd Tests.

The onus is on the players to step up and perform once they are on the field. The coach can't do anything then!
If the coach was/is allowed to be a selector they may have some influence that way but again the players have to do it themselves.
