Actually I don't like to see Dilshan in the squad ones again. He is now very much older guy.We need to give young talented players like dilshan munaweera, Kithruwan vithanage to chance. Don't even think about to add dilshan ones again. If they do, "Idiots f***ers" is the good nick name word for that selection panel.

we need powerful players, not old naki fellows.

Gunathilaka & Kusal can be a very dangerous opening combination just like Roy & Hales though Tharanga is in top form.
We can give england the taste of their own medicine through Kusal & Dhanushka

I don't want to see him in the squad but he'll most likely be in it. Would like to see Kusal opening with Dhanushka/Dhananjaya etc. Dilshan is too old but I don't think the selectors will drop him entirely from the squad, though they may not choose to play him in the XI.

He need to retire. Not only him Kulasekara also should be dropped. Danushka should give a permanent place in the ODIs. He has shown enough in these conditions to retain his place with Kusal as an openers. Dhananjaya is the ideal guy as he too is an off spinner. If picked this is my 15:

Sandaken Lakshan (in for seamers in Subcontinent conditions)

we need some experienced guy in top order, but 40 yrs old Dilshan is over the hill now.

i think Upul tharanga is the best choice we have to replace him. he his in top form now. and has the experience we need to stabilize the side. if attackers open, their is always the chance of early downfall of wickets. if kusal and dhanushka open, certainly we need a guy like tharanga as one down to build big partnerships. without an accumulator in the top order, attacking mode wont work for the side. through his experience, tharanga can see off the new ball threat and capable to adjust his tempo at will when needed. Thirimanne is useless, even if he survives he takes a long time get out of his shell. my best choice to replace Dilly is Upul.

kusal mendis, dikwella or any other inexperienced youngster cannot do that essential job, under pressure.

Let's be fair on dropping or not picking him in the ODI squad, he's served Sri Lankan cricket and won matches for Sri Lanka, Someone who can be classed as one the consistent players in the Sri Lankan team . To be fair to him I think selectors has to speak to him rather than dropping him or not picking in the squad giving him a farewell that he deserves as he has served and been one of top successful players for Sri Lanka.. He has lost it a bit as he is aging along with that I think it is time for some youngster like dananjaya/ Dhanuska/ munaweera to be given a chance .

Kusal Perera is an automatic choice for SL fans, selectors and local media blindly embrace the Hype :P

But, KJp's miserable ODI performance record (Overall & and playing in Eng, ) even after granted 50 consecutive Odis chances over 2 years, is nowhere near the level of his Hype Bubble. This is the sad reality we all try to ignore somehow.

1) KJp Overall Odi Average of 50 Odis - 27.36 Av

2) KJp in Eng : 6 in/ 52 runs / 19 HS / 8.66 AVERAGE.

3) KJp 20 in - 71 runs - 3.5 Av - 55 SR;filter=advanced;orderby=start;runsmax1=9;runsval1=runs;template=results;type=batting;view=innings

He even failed in NZ just before suspension, in warmup game Vs NZ board XI with a 3 ball Duck and 8 ball 1 run. KJp has to prove his worth pretty soon, because SL cannot afford to WASTE another 2-3 years and 50 odis on him for hyped expectations, because there are many other young talented openers Dhanushka, K Mendis, Dhanajaya, Niroshan etc knocking on the door with good consistent performances.!

He only justified his T20 spot.

No point in critisizing kjp because from the smallest kid to the most experienced critic, everyone KNOWS he is a match winner in his day(just like sanath)... Dilshan will not be dropped becoz he deserves some respect for his services, but its up to him to realize that he's not needed any more... Better leave international cricket in sanga's fashion than sanath's ...
