Should SLC take steps to restart SLPL?

What we need is a proper three-day/four-day tournament. We don't want a team like West Indies and never want to be West Indies - only good at T20 and s**t at Test.

Given the last poor attempt would like to know why the majority want this to re-start? Bear in mind SLC will never have the money to attract the top players so I feel it will only ever be a half cooked effort at best.

We need to play more first class games at the domestic level. Lots of Indian players average over 50 in FC but in Sri Lanka, the majority of players average 35 to 45. Our FC tournament is very short. We need to increase FC matches rather than start the SLPL again.

Eventually yes. I agree with other comments that we should first get the first class system correct, and sort out other issues.

Then can reattempt SLPL without messes of the past such as those of contract, and reliance on India. BBL is Australia is successful without Indian players. BCCI is never going to release its players outside of IPL.

It is good if SLC can organize SLPL Tournament again.
But WELL ORGANIZED super 4's T20 tournament (Or super 5 or super 6) is also enough ahead of the T20 WC next year. I meant by Well organized is;
1) Teams should be prepared with equal strengths.
2) A team should play two matches against the same opponent in the first round of the tournament.
3) Matches should be played on different grounds.
4) Tournament should not be scheduled on a rainy season.

With these T20 tournament will be a good one to identify players for the WC and eventually the most promising team will qualify for the Champions league.

Players should play so many first class matches rather than starting these type of tournaments. We should increase the competition in the domestic level to reduce the gap between international level & the First class level. There should be a correct path to represent the A team & national team for every player(Bowlers,Batters,Allrounders). We should categorize every player & should implement a programme with specialized coaches to reduce those players weaknesses & to increase their standard.

For EX:- When we consider batters there are so many batters who have good strike rate but average under 35. What are steps we can take to improve the consistency of those players such as Dilshan Munaweera,Chamara Kapugedera,Bhanuka Rajapaksha,Yashoda Lanka,Mahela Udawatte,Shehan Feranado,Gihan Rupasinghe... etc.

-What are the steps we can take to produce number of 140+ fast bowlers & how can increase the pace of prevailing fast medium bowlers & Medium fast bowlers.

-Tharindu Koushal will be a match winner for srilanka in future. Why i am saying that not only he has a good domestic record but also he has a strong action as well. We need 2 tharindu koushals,2 malingas,2 kusals, 2 Sangas, 2 Heraths we need to produce more match winners. After retiring players like Sanga, Mahela, Herath, Malinga, Dilshan should help to produce more players of their caliber. What youngster should learn is thinking pattern of these players in a match situation.

If SL cricket struggling in T20 cricket i would have voted yes , but now NO we do not need SLPL. SL cricket looks more stable without SLPL . won a T20 world cup , ranked No1 in the world for a long time now . India & WI longer format cricket standard has gone down after they have started focusing on T20 leagues . so i don't think we need to fall into that same hole .
