Does the entire current SLC administration need to resign?

Promising young players are left out of games, series, squads and tours after a couple of bad games. Graham Ford, the highly regarded coach, threw in his towel after undue interference from team management.

The only captain with real leadership qualities stepped down after being made the scape goat for an underperforming team. One of the most loved Sri Lankan cricketers of all time resigned along with his fellow selectors.

All this happened in a mere 12 month period after Sri Lanka whitewashed the then No. 1 Australia 3-0.

How low does Sri Lanka cricket need to fall before Thinlanga Sumathipala assumes his part of the responsibility resigns, possibly along with his mate the sports minister? And if they don't, how long before Sri Lankan fans lose faith in the administration and deamand their sacking? Not long, I predict, if senibility prevails and especially if this chaos continues into another series or two.

The change has to happen from top down and not the other way round. I agree with Sidath Wettimuny that a new constitution in cricket administration is needed. For this to happen, we have to start from scratch with a clean slate, new faces and some fresh thinking. If the change does not come from within, it will be enforced by the people.

This process is called a revolution. Sumathipala, who seems to have strayed too far off his crease, must do some soul searching and relinquish his power for the benefit of cricket before being run out by a direct throw.

As a democratically elected and appointed member of parliament, the sports minister should listen to us, the fans, the players, the people of this nation and do the right thing by disolving the current administration and ordering fresh election under a new constitution.

If he considers his personal ties with Sumathipala or any other person to be more important than the sport, it is only a matter of time before he will be forced into a different portfolio or politically perish. The people will not wait another 12 months for the inevitable sweeping changes to happen.

Dearest cricket lovers,

My only suggestion and thought to up lift the team (who has talents)is,

Call back Sangakara and Mahela to lead the team as captain & w.captain, and help the young team to grow as a unit who can stand strong without political and any other influences.

Our Srilankan President only can do this , as this is a national issue.

Sidath W. is more than capable to become the president of the team along with coach Ford. This is humbleNess. We need to forget our pride and humble ourselves at any capacity. Then the results will be fruitful.
