For me he is the WK who kept wickets for Murali, Such a good WK, Y we need to axe him?

Do we have to play a aging wicket keeper who is not contributing to the team and kept keeping duties poorly in last NZ series with few drop chances when there are quite a few young players doing well based on the theory he kept well for Murali 6, 7 years back ?.

Prasanna was a good wicket keeper, but not a consistent batsman (he averages 29.50 in 58 tests).
It's a good decision to leave him for this series because young WK like Kusal, Chandimal and Dickwella deserve a place in the test team more than Prasanna because they are better batsmen.

He is a bit stiff. Probably the best gloveman we have had in recent times, and perhaps still is compared to his competitors.
Selectors have shown their intention. The world is obsessed with half decent keepers that can bat rather than the best gloveman and that's the way they have gone also.
Seems like the end for PJ in international cricket now, and sad way to end for him, but that's the nature of the game, and team's interest got to come first
