C'mon this is insane. I'm not a fan of Thirimanne but i think at the moment he is the one of few batsmen who we can trust in ODI Cricket. If we have lot of options and if we have lot of players who are scoring runs in regular basis then true we cann't have Thirimanne in the team. But current problem is not about the Strike rate rather it is about inability to handle pressure, rotate strike and building those big innings. In Pakistan Series we hardly play the whole 50 overs. Therefore at the moment rather than looking at strike rate we should look at the average of the players. We have enough batting power down the order to increase the run rate but the foundation has to be laid for those big hitters to come and deliver.

ODI/T20 Cricket is a game of momentum and its impossible to have that momentum in a team that features 2 of the most negative batsman that Sri Lanka has produced (thirimanne and chandimal), these guys don't even anchor the innings they keep blocking ball after ball with no intent except to get those selfish 30 s n 40s meanwhile puts a lot of pressure on whole batting order... its simply stupid to tell that their is no one to score fast... because there are players who can score fast e.g. sadeera samarawickrema, dasun shanakA AND MNY OTHERS WHO HAS BEEN NOT GETTING ENOUGH CHANCES LIKE THE TWO USELESS PLAYERS LIKE CHANDI N THIRI.

Not only Thirimanne likes of Siriwardene, Kaushal Silva are not good enough to play competitive modern international game.
