Dhananjaya is not the right person to replace injured Kusal Perera. Dhananjaya cannot attack the bowlers and score runs quickly like Kusal Perera. Usually Dhananjaya struggles even to hit a boundary at crucial situations and we saw that in last few innings that he played.

Definitely it should have been Milinda Siriwardane to replace Kusal Perera. Or otherwise Ashan Priyanjan or Dasun Shanaka are also acceptable.

Dhananjaya is the offical Replace for Kusal Perea so stop naming Half-Baked players like Milinda Siriwardane.

Tough call for a guy coming in from the cold straight in to the Champions trophy know out game but not sure there are other options. Has happened before, many times thanks to our injury woes over the years.

Ironically Kusal Perera came in from the cold to the WC quarter final game against SA. Given De Silva is more in the traditional mode much like Tharanga and Chandimal, the worst thing to do would be to play all 3. As we just say, Chandi didn't bat chasing 300+ which is why he should not be in team.

If Kapu is fit I would play Kapu looking for aggression over accumulation.
