Should Sanath Jayasuriya be removed from the selection panel after the WC?

It seems, Jayasurya had voted for himself (& a few Indian fans & possibly Marvan ?) :))

"Nathang kawudha mecchara deyak welath illang kanne"...? ;-())

I think genuine credible people like Aravinda / Sidath / Champaka Ramanayake / Murali /
& maybe Herath, Sanga, MJ when they retire, should be ideal to do proper selections based on pure merit, if they are allowed to do a proper job without outside interferences.

useless guy with selfish political mind would never do a decent job as a selector for any national sports squad. unfortunately, now we experiencing the catastrophic sequences of having such a selector, sinking entire nation's hopes in current cricket world cup.

I admire Sanath as a player.. because it was a joy watching him play. But as a chairman of selectors admit that he made a mistake with the squad is something I find hard to believe. He had time on his hands to select a decent squad. I remember his first interview after been given the job.. that he and his fellow selectors will ensure rare talent will be identified and fast tracked. But what we saw was Rambukwella? Is he the person Sanath was referring to? I know he has the passion and want his national side to be successful. But you can't pick hackneys in thoroughbred racing. What we have showman like Jeevan Mendis. I think there are better ways to use his talent rather than keeping him as a selector.

Aftr WC, Mahela will retire. If u can bring him as the selector. Cz he is the one who brought Chandi, Thiri, Mahroof, Tharanga & some big names into the team. And moreover he selcted the ryt team to play at the ryt tym.

His position i'm sure will be reviewed after the WC, and hopefully some questions asked and explanations sought especially if all goes pear-shaped.

I didn't like Sanath getting involved when he did. I don't doubt his cricket abilities and cricketing brain but the things I disliked was he has played with some of the current squad members, which always had the possibility to cause issues, and he was an active politician/MP, which again in SL was likely to cause issues.

I was also wondering what the scope of his role within SLC was/is? Has he been asked to do much more than just Chairman of Selectors, because he seemed to be heavily involved in almost every decision process with SLC.
If the board asked him to do so, fine. But i hope he wasn't just involving himself in areas that he was not asked to.

I will always thank Sanath for the great service he did to Sri Lankan cricket as a player.

He is a very intelligent cricketer but does not show the same level of intelligence with selections. I think he brings in personal issues with certain players during selections.

I believe that he is dignified enough to resign if we don't win the WC.

I like to call him "A Jack of all trades but, a Master of none, except playing cricket." We are missing a "MASTER BLASTER" at the top now. Where is KJP ?

I like Santh the dasher not the Selector. My personal opinion is people who do politics shouldn't be selectors.
