Suranga Lakmal would be a much better interactive choice than Chandimal or Mathews to lead the side in Tests/Odis, because he had already proved his success as a skipper winning all 3 consecutive Tests played under him convincingly Vs WI & SA. Certainly he knows the art of winning matches utilizing the conditions to the max as a bowler...!

SL is sinking further under self-centered Mathews. His primary concern is only about his personal scores & averages (like Chandimal). This fact was proved yet again in the crucial 3rd ODI... scratching 32 runs (42 balls) @ pathetic 76 SR. This is the LOWEST Strike Rate in the WHOLE MATCH (both sides) from any batter who had faced 15 balls or more. Just imagine.... facing a massive 360+ target, which required a minimum of 120 SR... coming in the middle order to face the less threatening (less effective pace attack) from the old ball and going at such a low SR facing 40+ balls to score 32 runs from such an experienced player leading the side cannot be targeting the team's goal of making 360 runs. Mathews' batting displayed again his pure selfish play!

Even the bowler Akila Dhananjaya coming at No8, scored a much more aggressive 37 runs from 42 balls @ almost 90 SR..! Under such a self-centered leader Mathews, SL will certainly sink further.

Liyum makes stupid polls and comments because he wants Lakmal to be the captain. So he tries to show that mathews n chandimal are bad and they have not done nothing to Srilanka cricket.

When the middle order (Mathew) strike rate is in 70’s, top order is forced to play with higher risk (SR above 100%) to off the slack of middle order. Before Mathew came, the run rate was 7.0. Then, just like Chandimal, Mathew dropped the run rate. Instead of chasing, he was playing for his stats. If top order played low risk game with strike rate 70% (i.e. run rate around 5 to chase +360), then only TP can accelerate but Mathew & Chandimal are total letdowns. Simply, UT / Dikka / KM / KJP are forced to play high risk, selfless, game for the team. None of them got out because of defensive batting. Please fix the middle order with someone capable to score at SR150% so that top order can play Mathew’s selfish batting at 70% SR with new ball.

Lime oh sorry Liyum, stop making stupid polls, your illiteracy on cricketing knowledge is exposed by these baseless polls.

seriously! is this worth of a poll! have you seen suranga lakmal's career performance. answer my poll? Can Lakmal get into any of the world's top side based on his career performance? the answer is no!

Well, three matches is pretty small sample size to judge someone as a captain. Remember Upul Tharanga started winning the Zimbabwe tri-series with bang and then flopped. However I got the feeling under Mathews team is not playing well(no energy in the field and bad fielding) as a team, however under Suranga Lakmal and Chandimal team plays well as a unit.

Anyone seems to be better than Mathews at the moment but that isn't the case with Chandimal who is a much better captain than Mathews

Hahahaa... don't blame others while clearly licking Mathews' back.

do u have any solid argument/points to disprove Liyum guy's clearly obvious facts stated here? Mathews & Chandimal are 2 guys playing for themselves rather than for the team SL.

BTW, when was the last time SL won a match under this selfish guy Mathews?.... doing some thing for the team??

When was the last time he won a MoM award?

Look at his ODI record - 45 FORTY FIVE NOT OUTS in his 169 innings played so far. That is exactly 1/4 of his innings ended in not outs ..!

This could be a world record for a middle order batter mostly batted at No4 , 5, 6 spots..!! This is how he got/maintained his average up, dumping the team's chances of winning.!

Everyone including Mathews agreed that he is not a good captain which is why he stepped down. Takes a special kind of idiot to appoint such a guy to the captaincy again but apparently we have a few!

So now we stand around having the same discussion we had about a year ago - just how bad a captain is Anji? We know the answer, so does and so does everyone else but....
