Srilankans are utter idiots - dnt know how to spot talent and discard ones that are useless. If a guy is talented should persist with them for some time, Marvan Atapattu was the prime example - 6 consecutive ducks// Sadeera had a far better start..

He is a far better batsman than many henchmen who were brought for national duties, from time to time, mostly at the request of their parents. In this unfamiliar whether conditions he shouldn't have been asked to bat as a Test opener particularly, principally not like a T20 batter as the way the chief consultant of Sumathipala, the mad-max wanted him to do. Spending time at the wkt is the key to success in Test, for an opener, which is the most appropriate & great help for his fellow batsmen to follow as KhausalS did previously, against Pakistan and SA despite getting out early, after doing all the hard work. It is pity that neither the consultant nor the selectors could comprehend the requirement of Pujara style of batting. What the Test and ODI teams need are bunch of proven schoolboy Cricketers that has shown their class & consistency since the young the age of 12-14 as in the case of Mathews the Most Ooutstanding Schoolboy batsman [ runner-up ]of the Year 2007; RoshenS, the Most Outstanding Schoolboy batsman of the Year 2008, Chandimal the Most Outstanding Schoolboy Cricketer of the Year 2009; Angelo P, the Most Outstanding Schoolboy batsman of the Year 2009; Bhanuka Rajapaksha, the Most Outstanding Schoolboy Cricketer of the Year 2010 & 2011; Dickwella the Most Outstanding Schoolboy Cricketer of the Year2012; Kusal M the Most Outstanding Schoolboy Cricketer of the Year 2013; Sadeera the Most Outstanding Schoolboy Cricketer of the Year 2014; Asalanka the Most Outstanding Schoolboy Cricketer of the Year 2015 & 2016, The players that have proven their consistency from very young age are the best to represent a team in all formats. We have fielded many an average batter of limited strokes with difficulty in middling the ball in considering only, their occasional six-hitting ability, most importantly, what the team needs is batters that can middle the ball with ease with right control over their strokes and good temperament.

These present bunch of incompetent officials have lot to learn their trade, from India in Particular. If not, the days we are going to beaten by Afghanistan, Nepal, Zimbabwe at consistent basis is not that far, leave alone other established Test Nations.

I don't know whether he will improve his technique in the future (he has time on his side), but currently he seems to be a walking wicket at international level who often gets bowled like a school kid.
