Another run-a-ball Ton (118 Vs india) from Upul Tharanga @ Eden-Gardens

ODI winning ton? SL lost this match.

Btw, why is this site being flooded with Upul Tharanga videos? He was decent in ODI for a few years. But not an impact player. No point of keep going back to a batsman who does Average 30-32/SR 70-72 in modern cricket. Don't care about his runs v ZIM and BAN. He hasn't improved even after playing for 7-8 years.

lol Thranga the ultimate match winner my foot! Another selfish innings from Tharanga and another classic example of stat manipulation by this UT fan boy.

The selectors and board officials always spend their time on so that is why dropped players try to promote themselves to the selectors. No harm done. There is no need to attack any player or say bad things about them. They have all done good service to mother land and trying to get back to the team. Support and respect them.

SL lost this match thanks to tharanga's slowish selfish approach. Had it been jayasuriya or dilshan or mahela or sanga, they would have gone past 150 mark within 128 balls ofcourse. That's the difference of a classy player and an average player. And listen to the commentery, this 100 was his 1st hundred in 3 years. He was desperate and selfish thats all i can say. He always is.

@Anon, for sure. Only reason SL crossed 300 in this match is Thisara scoring 31 off 14 deliveries. Now that's impact.

ALL criticizers just take a look at the top-order score card of that match:

Sri Lanka innings (50 overs maximum)

1) Tharanga 118 runs - 128 b - 92.18 SR - (14 x 4 - 2 x 6)
2) TM Dilshan 9 runs - 19 b - 47.36 SR - (1 x 4)
3) ST Jayasuriya 15 runs - 15 b - 100.00 SR - ( 3 x 4)
4) KC Sangakkara 60 runs – 72 b - 83.33 SR - ( 5 x 4 )

Total (6 wickets; 50 overs) 315 (6.30 runs per over)

Fall of wickets 1-31 (Dilshan, 7.6 ov), 2-72 (Jayasuriya, 12.5 ov), 3-198 (Sangakkara, 36.3 ov), 4-234 (Tharanga, 42.1 ov) --

Before criticizing with no clue about the whole picture in that match, just look at the STRIKE RATES and individual scores of the top order. Dilshan took 19 balls to score 9 runs, SJ lasted just 15 balls to score 15 runs, Sanga used 72 balls to score 60 runs, Tharanga’s 100 came from 102 balls .. IS THIS THE “selfish” approach you are talking about ??? They all tried to do their job, but only Tharanga succeeded in putting up the launching pad necessary for final blast in the last 8 overs. When Tharanga got out in 43 over, the score was 234/4 leaving plenty of wickets in hand (6 wickets) to whack in last 8 overs… which Mahela & Thisara utilized to add 81 runs going @ 10 RPO ending with a challenging total of 315. But Gambhir & V Kohli were too strong for our bowlers in that match sealed the fate :)

So how could you blame Tharang ? and demeaning his valuable effort as the cause.. Shows malicious nature of your criticism.

@Anon: u said “SL lost this match thanks to tharanga's slowish selfish approach….” Oh Really ? UT’s 100 came up from 102 balls with 14 x4 and a Six ….
IS THIS THE SLOWISH SELFISH APPROACH that You are talking about? :D)

@ MDKJuliusIsTharanga: run a ball Ton means, 100 from 100 balls, is that hugely different from scoring 100 from 102 balls ?

He scored that Ton after 3 yrs so what ? He had plenty of near hundreds in between and even in the previous matches in that same series, as said by the commentator. Don’t forget, that was his SEVENTH (7th) Hundred scored from just 82 Odi INNINGS, Compare this with Sanga’s record at that stage in Dec 2009: Sanga had played 244 Odi innings and had scored just 10 x 100.

So in relative terms, where did Upul stand at that stage? This criticism is well within the definition of malicious intent.

obviously, these fools don't know what an impact means. Did those idiots think, how it was possible for MJ and Thisara to use the risk-free long handle at the death overs to top the 300 mark? NOoooop... they assume the platform was sent from heaven for them to dance in the final 8 overs.. Ha ha haa world-class fools! I guess they watch cricket only to see the ball flying over the ropes and surely that's all they understand about this game. how funny.!

but but... this is NOT 100 from 102 deliveries...
this is 118 from 128 deliveries.. so yes there is a HUGE difference..

your world play is same as ur stats. i.e MANIPULATED. LOL
