UPUL THARANGA record against England compared with the so called LEGENDS in international cricket are below.

1) Upul Tharanga - 58 Av - 3 x 100 - 2 x 50 (from 11 Odis)
2) Sangakkara - 48 Av - 4 x 100 -11 x 50 (from 44 odis)
3) Mathews - 41 Av - 3 x 50 (from 21 Odis)
4) Mahela J - 40 Av - 5 x 100 - 8 x 50 (from 47 odis)
5) Aravinda - 38 Av - 4 x 50 (from 15 Odis)

Not even Mighty Indians Vs Eng cannot beat that record & it shows the value of this severely underutilized, unrecognized player UT :

Sachin Thendulkar - 44 Av - 2 x100 - 10 x 50 (from 37 Odis)

Virat Kohli - 39 Av - 2 x 100 - 3 x 50 (from 23 Odis)

Tharnga's batting record playing in English conditions:

5 Odis - 347 runs @ 70 Av - 84 SR - 120 (77 SR) @ Loard’s & 109 (107 SR) @ Leeds, 60 (SR 75) @ Manchester & 40 (SR 95)

One can't ignore Tharanga for the upcoming England series.
If Sanath&co ignored then that is END OF ROAD FOR THE SL CRICKET FOREVER!

Dude I feel sorry for you ..you do not have to promote a player like this if he has done enough to leave a memory among cricket fans..you can come up with all these videos but the truth is cricket fans will never replay a inning played by Tharanga. .that bitter truth you need to accept first. .He has no technique no aggression just a boring player. .Sanath ODI average is below to Upul's average but will anyone compare Upul with Sanath? Even Mahela it's the same, Mahela has played enough cricket to leave memories in fans. .even Kalu, Avishka is better than Upul. We have lost more matches because of Upul than winning because of him..All he did was hidding behind Sana/Dilshan and stealing runs when other 2 smashing the bowlers all over the ground. Even the opponent did not give a thing when Upul is batting in the other end as they had enough problem to deal with when Sana and Dilshan was there...

@cricexp wow what a cricket knowledge u have. its funny because according to ur wonderful brain tharanga has scored every century when sanath and dilshan were at the other end. oh shame on u illogical genius take a look at records even this video tharanga scored 84 while dilshan at other end in a parallel universe. this happpen people who are patriotic cricket pans (not spectators) talk about cricket

cric xp :If tharanga is boring player then what about, dimuth, kaushal, thiri. chandi udara, pranavithana udara etc.......these all players are very valuble for sri lanka... tharanga is a srilankan player not a foreign player... so whats the matter

100% agree with cricexp! This MDKJulius Caesar keeps posting videos to remind Tharanga as he may believe that no body even remembers Tharanga by now. As I have said before MDKJulius Caesar could be Tharanga's personal manager or someone paid by Tharanga

Look who's talking here :))) same old bandwagon sacred of upul getting a chance in any format is at it again... you know why... ha haa haaaa! just check Cricexpo's falsified con talk blog article's, posts aimed at him

The latest of @ Cricexp's such con talk is ... "we have lost more matches because of Upul than winning because of him.." oh yeah.. just check this fact, which proves this loser's credibility :D)

Tharanga had played 172 odi inngs & won 93 of them 54%.. higher percentage than Sanga, Mahera, Dilshan, Mathews etc . This is his contribution in those won ODIs:

93 in - 3533 r @ 42.05 Av -78 SR- 11 x 100 - 17 x 50

http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/...

Other guy is no different as you can see from his recent posts.. no time to waste on such trash :)

Yes, a superb attacking innings of 83 from Upul Tharanga against the formidable South Africa pace-trio at Galle.

Tharanga followed it up with a match-winning 92 and 45 at SSC a month later against Pakistan and was then inexplicably dropped for the NZ tour. An extraordinary selection blunder by the then Sanath-led panel evidenced by crushing defeats in the NZ Tests and ODIs

A late-late replacement in the World Cup and a token match for Tharanga (batting at 8!)....

Tharanga was recalled by the Kapila-led committee for the 3rd Test vs Pakistan at Pallekele when Sangakkara returned to England to play for Surrey. Tharanga scored 46 and 48 batting at 3, and was dropped again from the squad for the first two India Tests that followed, and recalled to open the innings in the 3rd Test on a SSC green-top when Sangakkara returned to England. Two failures a duck and a 4 (caught off a no-ball) and Tharanga was axed again...

Such is the cruel selection fate that has befallen one of Sri Lanka's best Test and One-Day batsman.

MDK Julius Caesar makes a compelling case for Upul Tharanga and finds himself jeered from the sidelines.

The reincarnated Sanath-led selection committee would do well to include both Tharangas (Upul Tharanga and Tharanga Paranavithana) in the SL squad for the upcoming England tour. The SL batting will need all the experience it can muster.
