If the umpires saw this footage, why failed to show to SL management immediately before jumping into conclusions of code violation. The simple answer is that these ICC umpires are ignorant about ‘Crucial Conversation’. SLC should contest every allegation and please request ICC umpires to go through ‘Crucial Conversation Training’ for all ICC umpires. Dinesh kept thorough wiping (shining) the ball on his pants after saliva application and before hand over the ball to Kumara. Any sane person could see that there was not intention for ball tampering although it happened right after having something in his mouth. Video suggests several violations: 1) ICC umpires failed to show the video clip to SLC management before reaching conclusions. 2) ICC umpires failed to show the video clip to Dinesh and inquire about what he put in his mouth and before reaching conclusions. 3) All three events (putting something in mouth, using saliva immediately, and polishing the ball thoroughly before hand over the ball to pace bowler, Kumara (not to a spinner) clearly implies there was no intention of foul play by Dinesh. But umpires maliciously interpreted as ball tampering. 4) Thorough polishing suggest that ball can not be changed by food item which is used immediately by pace bowler but umpires changed the ball without discussing with Dinesh or SL coach or SL manager 5) Umpires changed the ball without showing the proof that ball got changed and instigated a controversy with SL management. Clearly the guilty party is ICC umpires for not following the Crucial Conversation Practice that used any organization. SLC should get the opinion of expert about this video about allegation of intentional tampering. Of course the ball get tampered naturally while playing due to hitting by bat, hitting at pitch, bouncing on pebbles, scratching by sand, rolling on mud, handling by sweaty palms etc. If the ICC umpires followed ‘crucial conversation practice’, the issue was settled with a warning instead of charging 100% match fee of Dinesh, charging Code 3 violations for SL management, ball changing etc. Umpires lack of ‘crucial conversation training’ brings shame to spirit of cricket.

This is very unfortunate for SL. I firmly believed SL players would never seek any unfair advantage, even they get repeatedly whitewashed. I'm really disappointed with Channdimal now & have a real doubt about his moral principles /true integrity.

I suspected his integrity in 2017, when Chandimal (in 2017-15 odis- 255@18 Av - 59 SR)repeatedly derailed SL Odis played under Upul Tharanga. No3 Chandimal totally messed up the middle order & even repeatedly halted the impressive momentum gathered by Openers UT/ND putting up 50+ @ 6 RR - 10 Ov in 2 consecutive matches.... with disgracefully slow & low batting approach batting @ No3. After playing over 8y of international cricket, such a pathetic approach in repeated matches unable rotate the strike was unbelievable.

How Chandimal disgracefully Curtailed SL Ings was clearly seen in whitewash Vs Pk in 2017. Ie; in 3rd Odi Openers Tharanga /Dickwela put together 59 in 10 ovs for 1st wkt, with impressive RR of 6. In any part of the World, that was a good platform to build 275+. DC came @ No3 when ND fell. By that time, UT was going fluently & all DC could have done is rotating strike & let the Captain to score. Instead,

Chandimal disgracefully started Blockathon for no reason!

There were no demons in the pitch, no sharp turn, even then he just blocked ball after ball. And, effectively killed all the momentum, openers UT/ND provided to the team. DC's SR of 38 with one 4 in 49 b indicates how DC totally messed up the middle order. He repeated that again in 4th Odi batting @ No3. Chandimal scored scratched just 92 runs @ 18 Av - 62 SR Vs Pk- in 5 Odis, mainly causing that whitewash.!

Poor Skipper(Tharanga topped the batting in that series-
199 runs @ 50 Av - 1x100+ & 1x50+), but got the whole blame for that whitewash, even after single handedly fighting to avert it. UT even became the 1st ever SL batter to carry his bat through an ODI inning with an unbeaten 119*. Chandimal may have expected the leadership. But whatever it is, the nation should have come first for genuine player.

Chandimal is a good Test batsman, but this kind of blemishes will certainly ruin his career & put a big question mark over his integrity. This effects SL cricket & it's image!
